At the time, all codes were severely limited in both quantity and the amount of time gamers had to redeem them. In one of my earliest Monday Tip-Off articles back in 2015, I criticised Locker Codes for the way they’d been implemented in NBA 2K. This week, I’m tipping things off with a few thoughts on how NBA 2K has finally hit the right combination with Locker Codes. We’re at midcourt, and the ball is about to go up…it’s Monday Tip-Off! Start your week here at the NLSC with a feature that’s dedicated to opinions, commentary, and other fun stuff related to NBA Live, NBA 2K, and other basketball video games. Thanks to sticky-fingers for the heads up in the Forum! This includes projects such as the Classic Seasons rosters by Stildo33 and company.
With roster sharing also disappearing once the servers are gone, I’d also recommend that you download any rosters you want while you still can. This includes aiming for any Trophies/Achievements in the online modes, completing a season in M圜AREER, and playing with your favourite MyTEAM cards. Since December 31st is only a little over a week away, I’d advise you to wrap up any business before the NBA 2K19 servers are gone. Interestingly, the NBA 2K18 servers were kept online for an additional three weeks, before being shut down earlier this year on January 18th. This falls in line with 2K’s policy of providing online support for 27 months, adopted after the NBA 2K14 server shutdown resulted in controversy. Any Virtual Currency and MT you have will also be lost, and in-game roster sharing will no longer be possible. This includes Play Now Online, MyTEAM, and the entirety of M圜AREER and its connected modes. After that point, all online content will be unavailable.
Congratulations and thanks to Stildo33 and company for all of their hard work so far!Īs per the official 2K Support Twitter account, the NBA 2K19 servers will be shut down on December 31st, 2020.
The mods have been put to good use in games being played over Parsec, and you can check out some highlights over on our YouTube channel.
A lot of care and attention to detail has gone into them, and as you can see from the videos and screenshots users of the mod have been posting, it’s resulted in highly accurate performance. If you’re still playing NBA 2K19 PC, and even if you’re not, I highly recommend checking out the mods. Additionally, further seasons are also in the pipeline, with the 1995 mod already well under way. The releases that are currently available came out last December, but new versions are being worked on. Presently, the Classic Seasons mods for NBA 2K19 cover 1988-89 through to 1993-94. You can find all of the download links here in the NBA 2K19 Modding section.
With the server shutdown last year, it’s obviously been more difficult for the rosters to be distributed.įortunately, that’s no longer the case! Stildo33 has uploaded the rosters so that they can be downloaded the “old-fashioned” way, along with the necessary art packs. If you’ve tuned in to the NLSC Podcast as of late, you will have heard Dee4Three and I talking about the Classic Seasons mods for NBA 2K19 PC, created by Stildo33 and company. Congratulations to the team on another great release!
If you’re still regularly playing NBA 2K19 PC – and even if you’re not – I’d highly recommend checking out the Classic Seasons Mods. Once again, a tremendous amount of work has gone into these rosters to ensure accuracy in both the aesthetics and on-court performance. Preliminary work has also begun on a 1987 roster, though it won’t be out until Thanksgiving at the earliest. A 1995 season roster is currently in the works, with a projected release in late October this year. Stildo33 and company aren’t done yet, either.
You can find the rosters for 1988 and all of the other seasons, as well as the required art packs, here in the NBA 2K19 Modding section. At the time, the collection of fantastic retro mods covered the 1989 season through to the 1994 campaign.Īs you may have recently seen announced in the Forum however, the 1988 season has now been added to the lineup! The 1994 roster is also in final beta, and now includes historical stats for all players. A couple of months ago, the Classic Seasons Mods for NBA 2K19 by Stildo33 and company were made available offline, in the wake of the game’s servers being shut down.
